Hitting the Road… Traveling West

On Saturday, June 21, Colin Anderson will be traveling across Western Canada to interview, video and learn from farmers, farm leaders and community activists engaged in alternative ways of moving food from farm to fork. This 12 day tour will take Colin along with his research partner Dave Vasey through Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. This string of interviews is a part of a larger video/action research project that will ultimately result in the development of a 45 minute documentary research video about grassroots solutions to the farm/food crisis. Video Project Announced

We have received funding to produce a documentary video on local food initiatives across Western Canada that will focus on local solutions to the global food crisis.  The funding was provided by the SSHRC Linking, Learning, Leveraging project facilitated locally by the Winnipeg Inner City Research alliance.

Survey Winner – Winnipeg Growing Local Getting Vocal Conference

Congratulations to Marty Snelling from Brandon, MB for winning the $300 survey loto from the Growing Local, Getting Vocal Conference that took place on March 7th and 8th in Winnipeg Manitoba.  We are collecting further data to round out the surveys collected from the conference and will be working through the information over the summer/fall.  Keep an eye on this site for more information.
